This post WILL in fact start to save your life, and the lives of those you care about the most, if you make a simple decision to let it.
Every second of everyday we are slowly killing ourselves by being exposed to common household cleaning products and personal hygiene products. It's amazing that these products are for sale to be used in our own home when they are so harmful.
I've known how harmful personal hygiene products can be for a while such as lotions and makeup, so I made a decision a few years ago to use all botanically based lotions and shower products. It never really hit me how dangerous cleaning products can be. I mean DUH. It totally makes sense, just think about it, inhaling chemicals clearly isn't GOOD for you. It's funny how it's really common sense but not many people really think about it. We just buy products we need, because well we NEED them, and because we are also unaware that there are better household products out there. When you really think about it, and read the facts on what these products can do to your health it's actually breathtaking literally and metaphorically.
We use products such as Lysol, Clorox, and Windex, to clean and disinfect our homes, tooth paste, mouth wash, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body washes, soap, lotions and more for personal hygiene, and laundry detergent, for our clothes and bedding. Would we directly ingest most of the products I listed? HECK NO. Yet we are spraying them all over surfaces that we live in, dumping them all over surfaces we lay on, and directly putting them on our body and some directly into our mouthes.
Mothers allow babies to crawl on floors that were cleaned with these chemicals, to eat off of high chair trays that are wiped down with chemicals, and more. Scariest thing is, the mothers do not realize they are allowing their children to be exposed to chemicals in this manner every day.
Now lets look at something I was recently given that was shocking to me, followed by facts...
My friend Laurel gave me this pamphlet, so I've taken pictures of it so you can get more information on what household products can do to you and your children or future children. Make sure you read everything, it's important!
Pamphlet by Richard M. Barry |
Are you ready to rid your house of toxins? I was after reading this! We aren't there yet...
It's time to get specific on how each product can harm you.
Most household cleaning products include:
Chlorine
Ammonia
Formaldehyde
These ingredients and more are considered carcinogens, which cause and promote cancer growth, Endocrine disruptors, which confuse the body with false signals caused by the mimicking of hormone growth, and neurotoxins which affect the brain in range from headaches to memory loss.
Being exposed to these chemicals over a long period of time that are considered to be endocrine disrupters can cause:
reproductive and developmental growth problems, and behavior problems. Endocrine disruptors have also been linked to reduced fertility, premature puberty, miscarriage, menstrual problems, challenged immune systems, abnormal prostate size, ADHD, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and certain cancers.
How about the products we use for personal hygiene?
Toothpaste- A big problem with toothpaste is fluoride. A recent Harvard study on fluoride determined that it lowers the IQ. It also pacifies people and makes them become more lethargic, it hurts a specific part of the brain that has to do with problem solving, critical thinking, and motivation, lowers the immune system, makes people less fertile, and lastly, it allows people to be more susceptible to absorbing aluminum which is linked directly as a major cause of Alzheimer's and autism.
Mouthwash- Leading cause of throat cancer because of the alcohol levels. Some can be considered more dangerous than beer and wine, reaching 26% proof. So what about smokers? Yes, smoking can also lead to throat cancer, we know this. Do we know that mouthwash actually makes it worse for smokers? The ethanol in mouthwash allows substances such as nicotine to be absorbed into the lining of the mouth and throat more easily.
Deodorant- Contains aluminum, could be linked to breast cancer. This metal can travel into the lymphatic system under our armpits. If the hair was recently shaved, the skin will have microscopic nicks, allowing chemicals to enter more easily. As I mentioned earlier, aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's and autism.
Also, antiperspirants contain parabens, which are antimicrobial agents that come from toluene, which is a toxic petrochemical derivative. Some studies say that repeated exposure to toluene may cause hormone disruption.
So now that you are all aware of what these commonly used products are actually doing, what's the solution? I've recently started using cleaning products that do not contain Chlorine, Ammonia, Formaldehyde. I also have toothpaste that is fluoride free and deodorant that is aluminum free coming in the mail. I can't wait to start using these products!
You will be happy to hear that the products I am going to use from here on out are not only a lot safer, but actually do not cost a lot of money. Believe it or not, they are less than name brands such as Windex, Clorox, and Colgate.
I can be a personal referral for you to check out these products if you are interested! Make the change now and stop the slow death that we've allowed for so many years! This will make a safer future for you and your children. Please email me at lea.piccoli@yahoo.com, or for those of you who know me personally you can contact me by Facebook or text.
